Turnkey Low Voltage Design and Installation Packages

Many clients, especially general contractors and public agencies, need one contractor to take a low voltage scope from design through closeout. Sebastian provides turnkey low voltage design and installation packages that include:

Site survey

Walk the building or site to document existing pathways, rooms, and systems.

Design and submittals

Cabling layouts, rack elevations, equipment selections, and submittal packages for owner or agency review.

Installation

Pathways, cabling, terminations, and device installation, coordinated with the electrical and general contractor schedule.

Testing and labeling

Each cable run is tested and labeled so the system can be maintained and expanded later.

Documentation and closeout

As-built records and test results turned over at completion.

Low Voltage Cabling for Public Agencies and Institutional Projects

Public agencies, school districts, and institutional owners in Fresno County and across California procure low voltage cabling differently than a private business does. Bids are more document-heavy, contractors have to be registered and qualified before award, and submittals are reviewed before work begins.

Sebastian is set up for that process. We hold a California contractor license (CSLB License No. 940822) and are registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations for public works, and our team has completed low voltage, fiber, and cabling work for public and institutional clients, including the Fresno State communications loop and a downtown Fresno municipal building.

For a closer look at what agencies should specify and verify before a cabling bid goes out, see our guide to Fresno County low voltage cabling procurement, along with how to hire a qualified government electrical contractor in Fresno.

One Contractor for Low Voltage, Electrical, IT, and Security

Low voltage systems depend on the trades around them: power for racks and devices, network configuration after the cabling is in, and security and AV systems at the end of every cable run. Sebastian handles all of them, so one team coordinates the whole scope:

Low Voltage FAQ

A low voltage contractor installs and maintains the cabling and systems that carry data, voice, video, and control signals, including structured cabling, fiber optics, wireless access points, security and access control wiring, fire alarm and nurse call systems, and AV. The work covers pathways, cabling, terminations, testing, and documentation.
Low voltage and structured cabling overlap but aren’t the same thing. Structured cabling is the organized network of copper and fiber cabling, patch panels, and racks that carries a building’s data and voice. Low voltage is the broader category that also includes security, fire alarm, nurse call, AV, and other energy-limited systems.
Low voltage contractors in California are licensed by the Contractors State License Board. The C-7 Low Voltage Systems classification covers communication and low voltage systems up to 91 volts, excluding low voltage fire alarm systems, while the C-10 Electrical classification covers electrical wiring for any purpose. Sebastian holds CSLB License No. 940822, and license status can be checked on the CSLB website.

Fiber optic cabling installation is part of Sebastian’s low voltage work, including fiber backbones between floors and buildings and underground fiber runs between campus sites, as on the Fresno State communications loop project.

Public works low voltage projects are part of Sebastian’s work. Sebastian is licensed by CSLB and registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations for public works, and has completed cabling and fiber projects for public and institutional clients in Fresno County.
Turnkey low voltage design and installation packages are available from Sebastian, covering site survey, design and submittals, installation, testing and labeling, and closeout documentation, so one contractor is responsible for the full scope.
Low voltage installation from Sebastian covers Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Kerman, and the Central Valley, the Sacramento region and Sierra foothills through our Sacramento and Foresthill offices, and institutional and multi-site projects across California.
