What a Commercial AV Setup Involves
A commercial AV system is more than a display on the wall. Each type of space needs a different mix of equipment, and the parts have to work together through one control system.
| Space | Typical Components | What It Needs to Do Well |
|---|---|---|
|
Conference Rooms & Huddle Rooms |
Displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, video conferencing hardware, room scheduling panels | Clear audio for people in the room and on the call, with one-touch meeting start |
| Boardrooms | Large-format displays or projectors, ceiling or table microphones, automated control, presentation switching | Polished presentations and hybrid meetings with no setup delays |
|
Training Rooms & Classrooms |
Projectors and screens, voice amplification, multiple inputs | Every seat can see and hear, and presenters can switch sources easily |
|
Lobbies & Common Areas |
Digital signage, video walls, background audio | Content that's easy to update, and displays that run all day |
|
Event & Multipurpose Spaces |
Sound reinforcement, projectors, multiple displays, flexible control | Different layouts for different events, run by staff without an AV technician |
Common Commercial AV Problems and How We Fix Them
- Remote participants can’t hear the room. Echo, hard surfaces, and a single microphone at one end of the table make meetings hard to follow. We fix this with properly placed ceiling or table microphones, audio processing tuned to the room, and acoustic treatment where the room itself is the problem.
- Too many remotes and no central control. When every display, projector, and audio source has its own remote, meetings start late. We program a control system so one touch panel turns the room on, selects the source, and starts the call.
- Outdated or mismatched equipment. Older projectors, inputs that don’t match modern laptops, and equipment from different eras that was never designed to work together. We assess what can be reused and replace what can’t, so the room works as one system.
- Video calls that drop or stutter. AV equipment is only as reliable as the network it runs on. We design AV systems alongside the network and cabling so conferencing gear gets the bandwidth and connections it needs.
- Nobody knows how to use it. A system that only one person understands isn’t a working system. Every installation includes user training and simple, labeled controls.
Commercial AV Projects in Fresno and Clovis

One Team for AV, Cabling, Network, and Power
Commercial AV systems depend on the infrastructure behind the wall: low voltage cabling to every display and microphone, network connections for conferencing and control, and dedicated power where equipment needs it. When separate vendors handle each piece, problems fall into the gaps between them.
Sebastian handles all of it:
- Low voltage and structured cabling for audio, video, and control
- IT and network services so conferencing and streaming run reliably
- Commercial electrical work for dedicated circuits and equipment power
- Ongoing AV maintenance and support after installation

Commercial AV FAQ
What is commercial AV?
Commercial AV is the audio and video technology businesses and institutions use in their facilities, including conference room and boardroom systems, video conferencing, displays and projectors, video walls, digital signage, sound systems, and the control systems that tie them together. Unlike consumer AV, commercial systems are designed for daily use by many people and are integrated with the building’s network and power.
What does a commercial AV installation include?
A commercial AV installation typically includes a needs assessment, system design, equipment selection and procurement, cabling and mounting, control system programming, testing, and user training. Sebastian handles each of those steps, plus the low voltage and network work the system depends on.
Can Sebastian work with our existing AV equipment?
Existing AV equipment can often be reused when it’s in good condition and compatible with the rest of the system. During the assessment, we identify what can stay, what should be replaced, and how to connect everything under one control system.
Does Sebastian set up video conferencing rooms?
Video conferencing rooms are one of the most common commercial AV projects we install, including cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, and one-touch meeting controls, designed so remote participants can see and hear everyone in the room.
What affects the cost of a commercial AV system?
The cost of a commercial AV system depends on the number and size of rooms, the displays and audio equipment each room needs, the control system, how much cabling and mounting the building requires, and whether existing equipment can be reused. An on-site assessment is the most reliable way to scope a project and price it accurately.
Does Sebastian provide commercial AV services outside Fresno?
Commercial AV services from Sebastian cover Fresno, Clovis, and the wider Central Valley, as well as Sacramento and projects elsewhere in California. Location and scope are confirmed during the first conversation.

Plan Your Commercial AV Project
A commercial AV project starts with the rooms themselves: how they’re used, who uses them, and what’s frustrating people now. An on-site assessment gives our team what it needs to recommend a system that fits the space and the budget.
